The Problem

The down-side of these measures is that our homes have become, in effect, sealed boxes with little or no replenishment of the air, especially in the bedrooms. This leads not only to reduced oxygen that we need to breathe, but also contamination build-up such as, carbon monoxide from gas cookers and heaters, cigarettes, vapour from paint and biological pollutants like house dust mites.

Water vapour generated within our homes creates the all too familiar streaming windows leading to mould and fungus problems. Opening windows does not help as it is an uncontrollable means of ventilation which leads to wasted energy and an increase in costs, not to mention the security risks, noise and traffic pollution in highly populated areas.
